Vanity New

This is a vanity that has been in the Womack family for generations. It was in pretty bad shape when we obtained it just after Christmas. It sat in our garage for a couple of months. We finally got around to sanding it. Talk about hours and hours of work! It had several years of stain, scratches and who knows what else embeded into the surface.

Courtney and Elizabeth made this stain by combining several other stains that I had. It turned out to match pretty well with the rest of our bedroom furniture. Then a couple of weeks ago I started putting on the finish, which is a poly. We left it glossy.

Over the past few weeks Elizabeth and Courtney have been working on lining the drawers and tonight we finished it with new drawer handles. We also mounted some lights above to make this area Courtney's personal dressing room and makeup area.
